the Truman show is a movie about the life of Truman a person who is play by jim carrey. in this
movie Truman's life is just a hoax by chrisof the director of a reality show that is his life fo entertainment of the people. chrisof and Truman is a philosophical idea of themselves. chrisof is god because he the one who is ruling Truman life and everything in their is their to make Truman think this is reality, it a perfect reality for Truman for it have no despair and everything is there for him. it is until too much that Truman start to think it is not and he try to escape. Truman is a symbol for true man, a man who is perfect in the face of society, as we see in the beginning of the movie that Truman is truly a perfect man he is nice to everyone he met. and he is perfect in everyway.
in christof' eyes our society is sick and the place where Truman is living a perfect place for him. he is a god because he created a world for Truman and control how he live his life. he tape Truman life from the day he was born to the day he is an adult.
Agree with everything you said. However, I think Christof is the god of Truman. Outside of the world he has created for Truman, he is just a regular person like us who has a different thoughts toward society and actually does something about it.

ReplyDeleteI guess in some way Christof is a god as a god is a "superhuman being worshiped as having power over nature or human fortunes" What Christof did to Truman was "superhuman" as he had control of practically everything, water, people, weather, etc. Christof created a new world for Truman and a new reality which isnt something a normal person could do.
